I have been following the nursing shortage in the UK via Nursing Times
The shortage of nursing staff across the globe has been news since before I left the profession over 6 years ago. They are still talking "fixes". This is ridiculous to the point of being downright frightening. No one really cares except the health care consumers who are powerless to do anything about it.
Typical of nursing organizations, health organizations, and governments; all talk, too many damn reports that are merely collecting dust, and no real caring about anyone but themselves.
There is no reason what so ever for this situation to have gone on this long. Canada, the USA and Britain are all supposedly top nations but we can't even do a simple thing like caring for the sick and aging. No, creating new drugs, fancy software programs, new vaccines, or lean hospital designs do not constitute good healthcare. What ever happened to love, true caring for other human beings, and compassion? I believe qwe lost all that when hospitals and healthcare starting catering to "consumers".
